Hope we find you well and staying safe. We have been working very hard on the website to produce a shopping experience that is easy and enjoyable as well as sourcing products suitable for or missing in the Australian rod building market. Over the last 12 months, particularly with the resurgence of the Alvey sidecast and centrepin reels, I've been focussing on finding Estuary and Surf blanks for the Blackfish and Bream market. Initially I sourced the Jurassic ranges, which sold out quickly but new models are on hold due to the pandemic. I have placed an order with Kilwell due late December or early 2021, starting with a MT4144-2 piece blank and building up from there.

With the sale of RodDancer, the extremely popular Pit Paste for your cork filling has been unavailable. I have just received a sample from a supplier in Portugal, the home of cork, that is virtually identical in properties to the RodDancer Pit Paste. I also expect that to be available early in 2021.

UNITED COMPOSITES GUSA BUILDS

It's been a long time since I've had the privilege of building up GUSA blanks. These are 15Kg boat, bottom bashing rods. The customer requested something special in a top quality blank and build up as well as robust components. I've done triple deluxe bindings, with the bindings colour matched to the components as closely as possible.

Andy Dear, the creator of Threadmaster, has released his latest offering into the Epoxy Finish market. It has created much hype in the US and deservingly so. With similar interest in Oz we had to put it in stock. It has been selling extremely well and I must admit I have been using it for a while and wow! it is my go to epoxy now. The levelling, clarity and bubble release is the best I have used. So I'd say to everyone, even the experienced builders, don't hesitate to try it. I would be very surprised if you don't think the same. We have it available in the High Build 4oz and 8oz kits. I have a sample of the Light coming, so as soon as I have tried that I bet we will be stocking it :-)

Trying to find any of our Aussie favourite blanks is becoming extremely hard. We have sourced an assortment of blanks from a tackle store that recently shut down. These blanks are all new, from iconic brands such as Pacific Composites, Kilwell and Snyderglas. They have a little shop soiling and scuffs which are not significant. There is limited stock with only one or two of each model available.
They are priced to sell!
